Introducing Iyad Sarhid

We are pleased to welcome Iyad Sarhid, who joined our EMT unit as a Senior Business Developer in the Photons-2-Chemicals program on April 1st. Iyad will be primarily based at our Eindhoven HTC 25 location.
He will be collaborating closely with Pascal Buskens, Nicole Meulendijks, Martijn de Graaff, and Stephan Janbroers, as well as other colleagues in the Business Development and Research departments. He will also be spending time at our Rijswijk, Geleen, and other locations as needed.
Iyad brings a wealth of expertise to our team, holding a Ph.D. in photo-catalysis from the University of Paris-Saclay in France. Prior to joining us, he worked at Aliaxis, a leading Belgian B2B manufacturer and distributor of water management systems, headquartered in Brussels with a global workforce of around 20,000 employees.
“My mission is to promote photon-2-chemicals technologies to build tangible and impactful ventures to accelerate the transition to clean energy. I belief it is crucial to establish a meaningful dialogue amongst stakeholders in public and private sectors around solar-to-chemicals applied technologies. In a volatile and uncertain current landscape, it is no longer a luxury to discuss sustainable energy resources, it is a must. It is an honor to be a member of TNO. Personally, I do not consider it a ‘job’, but rather a calling.”
On a personal note, Iyad is fluent in Arabic, English, and French, and is currently working on improving his Dutch. He is passionate about a wide range of topics including science, business, music, sports, politics, culture, and food.
