iStock_000016467862_XXXLarge.jpgShared Research Program VoltaChem has started work on paired electro-organic synthesis of high-value (bio)chemicals to create new potentially viable business cases. We are currently looking for chemical companies and equipment suppliers that are interested to participate as partner or supplier in the research.

In the program line Power-2-Specialties VoltaChem is developing new concepts and technologies for higher efficiency electrochemical production of valuable chemical compounds. With paired electrosynthesis principles it has been calculated that an average capital investment reduction of 35% can be achieved compared to conventional electrochemistry approaches, with energy savings up to 66% compared to current thermal oxidation processes. Therefore, investing in paired electrosynthesis is a valuable business opportunity for chemical companies investigating electrochemistry as a tool for highly efficient and pure production of chemicals.

In 2016 VoltaChem has started intensifying the research in this domain. Industry is welcomed to participate in the project bringing focus and getting certain rights in exchange for their contribution. Companies participating in an early stage will have the unique opportunity to determine the direction of the research and the chemical showcases to be assessed. Furthermore, equipment providers are welcomed to increase the know-how position and competitive edge related to their specific technologies.

Earlier entrants get more influence and rights to the results.
