VoltaChem welcomes 5 new Community Members

Shared Innovation Program VoltaChem is pleased to welcome 5 new members to its Community in the field of the electrification of the chemical industry. Two large companies (Cofely & Nuon) and three SME's (MAGNETO special anodes, Technip and Coval Energy) decided to join us.
MAGNETO special anodes is one of the 5 companies that recently joined VoltaChem's Community. Pieter Hack, CEO at MAGNETO special anodes B.V. : "We have got a special interest in new electrochemical reactions and we would like to participate in the development of technical networks and applications in the field of anodes and electrochemical cells. I believe that the VoltaChem Community will enable us to realize our goals".
5 new members
Every VoltaChem member is displayed on VoltaChem's website in the member section. This is how the five companies present themselves:
- Technip
In The Netherlands, Technip is active in the design engineering and construction and worldwide implementation of process plants and units in the oil & gas, refining, petrochemical and offshore industry. Technip Benelux B.V. has proprietary technologies and know-how in the field of ethylene and hydrogen/synthesis production plants. It also offers operational support services and proprietary operational software to operators of ethylene and hydrogen plants.
- Coval Energy
Coval Energy is a clean-tech company with a complementary team of specialists with extensive experience in utilities, the oil & gas and chemical industry. We are developing breakthrough solutions for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions using renewable electricity as a feedstock. Our aim is to reduce the carbon-foot print by considering (captured) carbon dioxide as a feedstock rather than a waste product. Our technology supports the further growth of renewable energy sources.
- Cofely
Cofely makes technology work for its clients, enabling them to focus on achieving their performance targets. We do this by using innovative concepts together with integral and sustainable solutions. Our efficient and effective technological applications are linked to the financial, process and management knowledge we apply to our work for clients. Whether that is in the area of new build installations, maintenance, facility management or onshore and offshore constructions and services.
- Nuon
Nuon, part of Vattenfall, is an energy company whose 4,800 FTEs serve around approximately 2.1 million consumers, businesses and (public) organisations in the Netherlands. Nuon produces and supplies gas, electricity, heat and cooling and offers its customers a wide range of energy-saving products and services. Nuon seeks to provide reliable, affordable and clean energy while working to distinguish itself as a sustainable entrepreneur. We aspire to achieve balanced growth for all our stakeholders: customers, employees, shareholders, the environment, as well as society at large.
- MAGNETO special anodes
MAGNETO special anodes B.V. is an independent company, specializing in the development, manufacture and sales of anodes for the electrochemical industry. The refurbishment and replacement of electrochlorination cells for seawater electrolysis are also part of our product portfolio.
Member benefits
Companies that join VoltaChem's Community benefit from specific advantages:
- Community members get the exclusive opportunity to participate in one or more program lines and to influence the roadmap.
- Members get access to dedicated workshops and (inter)national events and are kept up to date on current developments and the latest results from VoltaChem's program lines. The next meeting - exclusively accessible to community members - wil take place prior to VoltaChem's annual event.

VoltaChem invites the chemical industry and electricity sector to join VoltaChem's Power-2-Integrate Community. For 2016 the annual fee will be EUR 4.500,-.. Members receive free access (for 2 persons per company) to the online community, exclusive VoltaChem workshops and seminars and discounts on joint events with other organizations. Only VoltaChem members can participate in VoltaChem R&D projects.
Special SME offer
Robert de Kler, VoltaChem's Community Manager: "To make the membership more appealing to SME's we decided to offer them a special SME offer and considering the enthusiastic reactions we receive, I expect the number of applicants to increase sharply this spring."
The special SME offer:
- SME's < 50 FTE can participate 100% in kind in VoltaChem's Community.
- SME's that employ between 50 and 250 people can participate 50% in kind and 50 % cash (so € 2.250,- ex VAT yearly) in VoltaChem's Community.
